OpenWater Officially Launches to the Public, Opens Membership Applications 

There is a feeling any startup founder knows on launch day – the potent mix of excitement, anxiousness and exhilaration that comes after all the hard work of building a product meets the day you release it into the world. 

Today that day has come once again for me as I am thrilled to announce OpenWater, a new community and platform that connects experienced professionals with new opportunities, is open to new members. 

This moment has been close to a year in the making and honestly, I’m more excited than nervous with this launch. I’m feeling positive because for the first time, I’m not just releasing a product, but rather I’m on a mission. I’m 58 years old and after selling my last startup, I felt a little lost. I was at a crossroads, unsure of what would or even could come next at my age. I was too young to retire, and wanted to stay productive – just in a different way. 

I wasn’t alone in these feelings. Turns out there are a lot of deeply storied career professionals who either want to change or were forced to  change in how they work. Which is why we created OpenWater.

OpenWater is built on the belief that new relationships drive fresh opportunities. So we have developed a platform and are building a community where experienced professionals can feel seen and get noticed. We help our members connect and collaborate through a combination of: 

• Private networking events with true peers at the same stage of life
• A platform to showcase the experience and talents of our members
• Promote your experience through OpenWater shows, channels and publications
• Exclusive courses, workshops and bootcamps to help members repackage or sharpen their skills

As we grow, OpenWater is creating Wisdom as a Service, which will allow corporate partners to gain a competitive advantage by engaging with our members directly to retain their business and institutional wisdom for a competitive advantage. 

My Co-Founders Anh Dang, Seth Potter and Chris Albrecht have done a lot of work thus far to make OpenWater a truly remarkable and welcome experience for our members. With more than 160 professionals already on the platform, OpenWater has already proven successful at helping our members connect, get discovered, sharpen their skills and feel more empowered to navigate what’s next.
