OpenWater Takes the Work Out of Networking at Sold Out Event in San Francisco

A core belief at OpenWater is that new relationships drive fresh opportunities. And despite all the tools available in our virtual world, there is no better way to create new relationships than in-person events. Which is why we were thrilled to host a packed house for our recent “Take the Work Out of Networking” event in San Francisco last week.

OpenWater member Karen Wickre, author of the (appropriately titled) book “Taking the Work Out of Networking” delivered a salon-style talk where she dispensed wisdom about working a room. Wickre offered tips for those who might be a little daunted by meeting new people, discussed the importance maintaining “loose connections,” and coached folks on how to follow up once you’ve established a new contact.

We also want to give a big thank you to Silicon Valley Bank for sponsoring the event and hosting us at their truly amazing experience center in downtown San Francisco.

This is just one of the many in-person events OpenWater is hosting across the country. If you are interested in attending one to learn more about OpenWater, visit our Events page and apply for membership.
